How to recover abandoned carts with WhatsApp

Abandoned cart recovery notifications are part of the marketing strategy that every e-commerce should adopt to maximize their conversions. In this article, we will see how simple it is to recover abandoned carts (automatically) with WhatsApp
To date, many businesses use email marketing services to get in touch with their customers and finalize the purchase. The data speaks for itself: only 10% of recipients will read the email, and an even smaller percentage will be encouraged to complete the purchase. What would happen if the percentage changed instead? If the message open rate went from 10% to 90%? The results for companies would certainly be more rewarding.

In this article, we will see how simple it is to create a cart recovery automation with Spoki and WooCommerce and what the benefits of using it could be.
Step 1: Enable integration with WooCommerce
Open the “integrations” section and click on WooCommerce; a tab will open in the left screen. Click on “Enable” in the upper right. Scroll to the bottom of the screen until you reach the automations and enable the desired automations.
Step 2: Enable Spoki automation
To enable automations, click on the individual automation and slide the cursor at the top right from “inactive” to “active.”

Within the automation, the start step, which is a specific request coming from WooCommerce, and a sample template will already be set. The pre-set template already contains 3 dynamic fields: the name, the checkout link and the support link.
It is possible to modify the text of the template (requesting a new one in the template section – the dynamic fields contained in the example template can be reported in full or reduced, but it is not possible to add others). It is also possible to add an identification tag within the automation.
To request a new template, you will need to enter the “template” section, click on “New” in the upper right corner, compose the new template and send it for approval. Once approved, it is necessary to replace it with the default one within the specific automation.
NB: In order for Spoki to send the cart recovery message, the customer must leave their phone number. Therefore, we recommend requiring the phone number during registration.
To ensure that the automation works correctly, you need to install theSpoki pluginonWooCommerce and enable the sending of the abandoned cart recovery message.
A concrete example of the effectiveness of this function is provided by Manuel Bua, eCommerce Manager of the company Caraci Sicily Food.
Manuel activated the abandoned cart recovery feature via Spoki on the Caraci Sicily Food e-commerce platform. The results recorded were a success: compared to the previous month, 30% more carts were recovered.
