WhatsApp Chat History — What’s New in Spoki v17.0.7

What’s new in Spoki v17.0.7
Release v17.0.7 focuses on one thing: making your WhatsApp chat history a first-class data asset. Long-running conversations are now searchable across months of context, exportable in 2 clicks, and surfaced inside automations as conditions (“if the contact has spoken with us in the last 30 days, branch to the warm sequence; otherwise, send the cold-restart template”).
1. Extended retention windows
The default chat history retention is now 6 months on every plan (up from 90 days), with the option to extend to 24 months on Marketing tier and unlimited on Sales tier. Retention applies to text messages, media (images, documents, audio), template usage records, and link-click events. All historical data stays end-to-end encrypted at rest.
2. Cross-conversation search
The new search bar above the inbox lets you query any contact, any keyword, any timeframe in under 200ms even on accounts with hundreds of thousands of past messages. Filters: date range, agent, tag, template name, link clicked, attachment type. Results are clickable and jump straight into the conversation at the matched message.
3. Timeline view
Each contact card now exposes a vertical timeline that combines WhatsApp messages, automation events, integration syncs (HubSpot, Shopify, Salesforce, Google Calendar) and CRM stage changes into a single chronological feed. Useful for the closer who joins a deal mid-conversation and needs the full picture in 30 seconds.
4. Chat history as automation condition
Automation builder gains a new Conversation history condition node:
- Last replied — within X days/hours, last reply contained text matching, last reply was longer than N words.
- Message count — has sent more than X messages, has received more than Y messages.
- Template usage — has received template “X” before, has clicked link in template “Y”.
- Tag history — was ever tagged “X”, currently has tag “Y” but had tag “Z” before.
This unlocks segmentation patterns that previously required exporting to a spreadsheet, doing a join, and re-importing — now they run live inside Spoki automations.
5. Export upgrade
Export chat history to CSV or JSON with one click. Filters from the search bar carry over to the export. JSON export includes message metadata (timestamps, statuses, template IDs, custom fields) so you can pipe it into a data warehouse without post-processing.
6. Privacy & GDPR controls
Right-to-be-forgotten requests can now be honored from the contact card with a single Delete contact + history action that wipes messages, media, and audit logs across primary database, backups (within 30 days per our retention policy), and any third-party integration where the contact was synced (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc., reachable via the integration’s delete API).
Compatibility & rollout
- Available now on every plan — no opt-in, no migration.
- Chat history older than 90 days is gradually being re-indexed; expect full backfill within 7 days of release.
- API endpoints (
/v1/chats,/v1/messages) gain new query params (since,until,q,has_attachment); existing calls remain backward-compatible. - Webhooks continue to fire on every new message — no change.
